For JEE Mains, NCERT is generally considered sufficient for Inorganic Chemistry. Most questions in JEE Mains are directly or indirectly based on the concepts and information presented in the NCERT textbooks.

However, for JEE Advanced, NCERT alone may not be enough. JEE Advanced often includes more challenging questions that require a deeper understanding and application of concepts. You might need to refer to additional resources like coaching institute notes or reference books to cover all the advanced topics and problem-solving techniques.

Hello aspirant,

NCERT is always a very good source to study for JEE MAINS, but it is not sufficient to clear JEE MAINS Exam. JEE MAINS is one of the most toughest exam of India and it requires very serious efforts. To clear it you need study more content rather than just from NCERT book.

Thank you

Hello there,

Yes, NCERT is sufficient for Inorganic Chemistry in JEE Mains and even for most parts of JEE Advanced. Here's why:

Why NCERT is Enough:

  1. Conceptual Clarity: NCERT provides clear explanations of important concepts.

  2. Direct Questions: Many questions in JEE Mains and Advanced are directly based on NCERT content, including periodic trends, coordination compounds, and chemical bonding.

  3. Tables and Data: Questions often reference NCERT tables and factual data, making it crucial for memorization.

    Tips for Using NCERT Effectively:
  • Highlight Important Reactions: Focus on important reactions and exceptions.

  • Memorize Trends: Pay close attention to periodic trends and properties.

  • Practice NCERT Exercises: Solve all in-chapter and end-of-chapter questions.

  • Revise Regularly: Consistent revision is essential due to the factual nature of inorganic chemistry.

    Additional Practice (Optional):

If aiming for a high rank in JEE Advanced, you may supplement with:

  • JD Lee (Concise) for advanced problem-solving.
  • Mock tests and previous year question papers.

For JEE Mains, mastering NCERT thoroughly is often enough.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hi,

Yes, NCERT books are considered enough for the preparations of inorganic chemistry for the JEE Main exam. The JEE Main syllabus is similar to the syllabus of CBSE's Class 11 and 12 board and NCERT books cover almost all the topics that are included in the JEE Main syllabus. NCERT books are designed by experts to be a reliable source for studying for the JEE Main exam.

Many questions in the JEE MAINS exam have been directly taken from NCERT books of Inorganic chemistry.

Hope this information will help you

NCERT is sufficient for JEE Main Inorganic Chemistry as it covers all fundamental concepts and frequently asked questions. For JEE Advanced, while NCERT provides a solid base, additional reference books like J.D. Lee’s "Concise Inorganic Chemistry" are recommended for deeper understanding and advanced problem-solving.

NCERT is a solid foundation for JEE Inorganic Chemistry, covering key concepts. However, for deeper understanding and problem-solving, supplement with reference books like J.D. Lee or O.P. Tandon. Regular practice and revisions are essential for better results.
