Hey,

NIOS and CBSE are equal according to the syllabus and eligibility.NIOS and CBSE both have their own advantage and disadvantage. It is one of the three central boards- ICSE, CBSE, NIOS.

NIOS is a correspondence course for students who are not able to persue regular classes. This means that you will get all the materials for study and you will have to prepare yourself.
Disadvantage is that you won't get any classroom environment. Also, passing the examination is not so easy. You will have to be well prepared.
Advantage is that you will have options in subjects and also, you can do any courses or job with your education. Also, NIOS result will be eligible for admissions in all the institutes.
If you are preparing for any entrance exam, then NIOS would be a good option. You will have to give examination of 6 compulsory subjects.

Hope this helps!
