OBC- other backward caste and general are different categories for reservation of seats. But to avail the benefit of OBC category, you must come under Non creamy layer. If you are not under Non creamy layer, you will be considered as general candidate for any seats. The caste certificate you have must be of OBC-NCL category to get seat under this category.
