Straight line is there is Mains syllabus and in past years some questions related to pair of straight lines had been asked in AIEEE and Mains so it would be better to study it as you may expect one or two questions from straight lines and pair of straight line is a hot topic in it thus you may get questions from that ,moreover it is quite interesting and relishing topic to study,not straight line only i would say all coordinate geometry is worth studying as it make use of your thinking as well as analytical skills and is really a backbone of Mathematics.
