Hi Shreyas,

If you want to pursue research in the field of science or engineering, it is necessary to have a science background. It means that you should have studied the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology in your class 11 and class 12. However, research can be other field too like politics, economics, literature which do not require science background.
