IT and CSE has the Highest number of placements generally in any of the colleges as most of the mass recruiting companies are IT companies and want coders. If not taking about top colleges like IITs and some nits most of the placements of cse and IT are in software companies and thus lower packages at starting. But it all depends on interest whether one wants to go for software companies or not. Indeed a small portion of students get placed in big companies like Google, microsoft also.
