Is programming knowledge is important for a ECE student to get a core job?

Ofcourse it is important for ECE students to learn minimum basic programming languages like C or JAVA.

YES. This is one of the extra skill which is going to be common requirement is upcoming time. The expectation from an ECE candidate can vary in various organisations and so you can be expected to have knowledge of computer, telecommunication, CCNA routing and switching, and programming for core profile companies.

In short it will help you overall with your growth prospects as well. As an ECE candidate it is good to upgrade your skills to get a job in core companies like DELL, Wipro etc.
