College is situated in Sikkim , one of beautiful Place in India.It is an established Institute with the proper resource, opportunities, and guidance. The faculty is not the best . Some negatives points include such as Regional influence and bias, practicals are not taken seriously. Placements are pretty good. Big firms such as TCS, dell, Infosys, Capgemini etc comes for placements. MIT, other than from making us AN ENGINEER, taught us to be sincere, disciplined, information savvy, an agile thinker, respectful and "to belong". Irrespective of the "placements offered" SMIT made us capable to be placed. The company(Ericsson) itself hired close to 30 bright SMITians in 2014 along with many more by the other MNCs . There is good specialization is electronics and communication, followed by Computer Science.
