All have different experiences. For some it might be useful and for some not. But is is not applicable to all.

For IAS you required a bachelors degree. This degree could be from any stream. So it is not necessary to do IAS after engineering. you can do other degree courses and give this exam.

However if you want to give engineering services exam. Then it is correct to do after IAS.
