Most colleges have specific attendance rules that students are required to follow to maintain academic eligibility.

Generally, students must have a minimum of 75% attendance in each subject to be allowed to appear for semester examinations. Some institutions, especially those offering professional courses like engineering, medicine, or law, may require even higher attendance, such as 80% or 85%.

Absences due to medical reasons or emergencies may be considered excused if valid documents, such as a medical certificate, are provided.  Failure to meet the required attendance criteria can result in consequences such as being barred from exams, grade deductions, or even repeating the course.

Students need to stay informed about their college’s attendance policy by referring to the academic handbook or consulting faculty members.
