If you were to pursue an MBA in Marketing, chances are that one of your first few jobs would be in the sales department itself. Especially if you are a fresher. Now, a few jobs would actually entail roaming around a lot but there would be more where you would manage and keep tabs on the people actually roaming around.

So, there is no rule that is followed. But the chances of landing a job in either is same. It then boils down to college, company and work experience.
