If you didn't do well in a subject, there's usually a chance for a retest. The process can vary based on the type of exam. For board improvement or compartment exams, there might be a fee involved and also for college back papers. There is no such penalty just for failing a subject but yes, for re appearing or retest, you have to pay a fee.
