Hi Navneet,
It was not mandatory to fill family income since 2018. Forms in 2018 has no * mark displayed, which clearly says it was optional. Filing of Caste column was compulsory. But in year 2019 National Test Agency which conducts JEE has made a mandate to fill family income which can your father's income, Mothers income if she is working. It's better to have Income certificate generated from government authorised centres for future references or during the admission and counselling process. Focus on JEE score. Family income is not priority. If you get a good score. Family income doesn't matter even if its high or low. Hope this information helps you. All the best for JEE Mains.

Hey Navneet,
Yes you have to mention the annual income of your family since NTA has made it mandatory to fill that one in the form.
If your annual family income is less than 5 lakhs per year, you must submit an income certificate for JEE Mains counselling. The students' income certificates will be evaluated for fee remission.
