JAM is conducted by any one of the IITs for admission to various post graduate (PG) science programmes including integrated Ph.D, M.Sc, joint M.Sc-Ph.D, M.Sc-Ph.D dual degree, M.Sc-M.Tech, M.Sc-M.S (Research), Ph.D dual degree and other post-bachelor degree programmes offered at IISc Bangalore and other Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), respectively. Further, admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) is offered through centralized counselling to M.Sc / M.Tech programmes (CCMN). IIT JAM exam is conducted online always. Total seats are 1800 approx and 16 Institutes participate in the counselling.
