Even though some of the application runs over in .net, Java has a very large impact compared to .net. .net also has a disadvantage of being old enough, becuase of c# being an older language to java. Java is very much feasible in many ways as such it helps in web development as well as app development with the same language knowledge, which makes still the most convincing one.
