Solution : Time taken in running 24 metres = time taken by bus in covering 72 metres
Time = $\frac{\text{distance}}{\text{speed}}$
⇒ $\frac{d_1}{\text{speed of krish}} = \frac{d_2}{\text{speed of bus}}$
⇒ $\frac{\text{speed of bus}}{\text{speed of krish}} = \frac{d_2}{d_1}$ -----------(i)
⇒ $\frac{\text{speed of bus}}{\text{speed of krish}} = \frac{72}{24} = \frac{3}{1}$
Let $x$ be the distance Krish covers when the bus covers 4.8 km.
$\frac{3}{1} = \frac{4.8}{x}$
$\therefore x =\frac{4.8}{3} = 1.6$
Hence, the correct answer is 1.6 km.
