Hello,

Kunchitiga are a community of people from Karnataka, India. They are mostly concentrated in Tumkur, Bangalore, Mysore and Chitradurga districts.Historically the Kunchitigas were a landholding community of cultivators and merchants.

While considered a sub-division of Vokkaligas the Kunchitigas are listed separately by the government. They are classified under the General/Unreserved Category by the Central Government of India. Though there are lots of controversy going on,as Karnataka Kunchitigas Mahasabha President is asking the government to  include Kunchitiga community under the Category 1 of the Backward Classes list.

Hope it helps
Thank you !!!
