Hi aspirant,

This is a very simple question which can be solved by applying basic fundamental of mathematics. Let the breadth of rectangle be b meters so according to the question the length would be 2b-8. Now the perimeter of of rectangle is given and as we know the formula of of perimeter is 2(l+b).

Therefore 2(b+2b-8)=56

6b-16= 56

6b= 72

b= 12

Show the breadth of rectangle is 12 m and length would be 16 meters.

Given perimeter = 56m

First you need to read the problem and form equations accordingly.

So let breadth be x then length will be according to question 2x-8.

Formula for the perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

=2(2x-8+x) which is equal to 56.

Then 6x-16=56

= 6x=72

Value of x will be 12.
