The difference between homogenous and heterogeneous mixtures are:

  • By definition, a pure substance or a homogeneous mixture consists of a single phase
  • Particles are distributed uniformly
  • We can’t judge a homogeneous mixture by just seeing it
  • Homogeneous mixtures are also called solutions
  • Uniform composition
  • While a heterogeneous mixture consists of two or more phases.
