Mam,I don't understand what does this percentile means ? what should be the marks out of 720 to get 40 or 50 percentile??

Hi

Percentile score simply indicates you the percentage of students that scored either equal or less than you.

For example, if one gets 80 percentile in his examination then it simply means that England scored more than 80% of the students in the examination.

Percentile score=( number of people behind you/total number of people in the exam)* 100

Percentile score keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the examination etc.

But in general , you should try to get around 140 to 150 out of 720 marks in NEET Examination to be in 50 percentile.

For example, in NEET 2019, 134 marks was required to get 50 percentile which was the cutoff for general category, while 107 marks was required to get 40 percentile which was the cutoff for OBC, SC and ST category
