Master of Computer Application (MCA) is a course of three years offered by NITs.

For admission to MCA course in any NIT you have to clear the test named NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test) with good score.

NIT MCA Common Entrance Test, commonly known as NIMCET, is the national level entrance exam conducted every year by any one of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Admissions are taken on the basis of merit to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme in different NITs located in Agartala, Allahabad, Kurukshetra, Calicut, Raipur, Warangal, Surathkal, Durgapur, Trichy, Jamshedpur, Bhopal and Kurukshetra. NIMCET 2020 is conducted by one of the National Institutes of Technology. The application form of NIMCET 2020 will be released in online mode which the candidates have to fill in order to appear in the entrance exam. NIMCET admit card will also be released in online mode for download by candidates. The exam will be conducted in offline mode and the result of the same will be declared on the official website of NIMCET 2020.

It is to be noted that NIMCET scores are used by many other universities and institutes for admissions to the MCA programmes offered by them.

The duration of course is 6 semester i,e 3 years you need to write  NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) conducted by  national institute of technology
