The characterstics of elastic collision are as follows:

• In this collision there will not be any loss in the net Kinetic Energy i.e., the total Kinetic Energy is also conserved
• Total Energy is conserved
• Total linear momentum is conserved
• Forces involved are conservative in nature
• The mechanical energy in elastic collision is not converted into heat.
