Both the branches are core branches and there are a lots of scope after you complete them. But nowadays mechanical has lot more chaos than electrical which has made mechanical a tougher branch in competitions as no of competitors has increased. Electrical is considered as the toughest branch among all as it has a very vast syllabus. But it all depends on your interest as both the branches are opposite to each other and you will have to choose what's your interest.
