For a decent placement, you should maintain your CGPA around 7-8. It is obviously better if you can keep your CGPA at 9-10. BUt, 7-8 will do the work as most companies have an eligibility criterion of above 6 CGPA students only. However, placements don't entirely depend on your CGPA, make sure you have effective communication and extracurricular skills.
