If you would had mentioned the specific NIT you want to know about that would have really helpful as cut off for various NITs for different streams differs from a range of 270 to 130 marks.As if you want to get into NIT silchal it would be around 22000 and it would be  above 30000 in NIT Mizoram
and around 4000 for NIT Warangal(all for mechanical courses in general category for outside state). So it generally based on different NIT you are looking for as there is a huge gap in rankings and cut offs thus no generalisation can be provided.
