For General Category (Urban area), the expected cut-off usually ranges between 80 to 90 marks in most states. In high competition regions, it can go even above 90, so, 85 marks is borderline or slightly below average for general urban students in many states.
With 85 marks in General (Urban) category, selection is possible but not guaranteed. You are on the borderline. Please wait for the official merit list or selection list released by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) for your district.
