With a CRL rank over 3 lakh and SC category rank around 24,000, it’s tough to get mainstream branches like CSE or ECE in NITs or IIITs through JoSAA counseling. The competition is intense and seats fill quickly.

However, you can still consider these options:

  • CSAB Special Rounds: Some lesser-known NITs or GFTIs open up seats in branches such as Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical.
  • State CET counselling KEA for Karnataka if you’re in your home state : SC candidates may receive better access via state quota.

Also, consider private universities that offer scholarships and SC-friendly programs. Flexibility in branch and early decision helps as most seats are allocated early in main rounds.

Thank you and all the best!
