Candidates in the General category and OBC (creamy layer) must have reached the age of 21 on the 1st August of the Exam year, but must not have reached the age of 32 on the 1st August of the Exam year.

So, in 2024, you will be of 21 years but after August 1. So, this will make you ineligible to sit for the UPSC CSE exam in 2024. You will be eligible for UPSC CSE in 2025.
