However,you may have chances in lower-demand  NITs like NIT, Mizoram,NIT, Nagaland,NIT, Sikkim in less competitive branches like civil, mechanical,metallurgical etc through the ews category in other state quota. Participating in special rounds is important where cut-offs tends to drop offering more options.

So,while top branches are tough,you may have a chance at mid-or lower- tier NITs in less competitive branches. Apply in all rounds and keep backup options open.
