Hey,

If you are a general category student you stand no chance in getting into nits. You could either drop a year to get into nit or you could go into some other private college. Use the college predictor tool to know the lists of colleges you have chance of getting into-

Sorry to say but for NITs you need to have a percentile more than 97. Though if you have state quota in any NIT then you might get admission into branches like products engineering, fashion technology etc. As the cutoff for home state students are too low as compared to other state students.

Moreover if you belong to SC/ST then there are fair chances of you getting core branches in NITs with your category rank.

You can predict what colleges you might get with this rank by going through the link of college predictor tool given below.

Thank you.

Hope it helps.

Hello dear
It is difficult to get NIT ( good ranking with core branch ) with this score.
You my get non-core branch in low ranking nit S like
Agartala; Srinagar etc.( But not much fruitful).
You should take admission in private college .
Otherwise you should take drop if you can do hard work and dedicate toward it.( Think about it before going ; it needs a lots of effort and patience ).
I would suggest to take drop ; if you can .
So good luck

With this percentile you can definitely get admission in NIT . But your 12 boards result will also be considered.

Hello candidate,
According to your mentioned percentile your general category rank will be around 2.10 lakh, with this rank you have no chances of getting NITs or GFTIs, however you might get top private universities or state level private colleges with your JEE main rank.
You can use the college predictor tool available on this website to predict which colleges you can get , link https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=C360&utm_medium=qna&utm_campaign=jee-main-college-predictor
all the best :)
