Hi  Nalin,

If you get 49.678 percentile in JEE main exam, your rank would be approximately in between 5,01,000 to 55,05,000.  Also, Above is the range of your possible rank. The predicted rank may vary due to JEE Main tie breaker rules for the same score. Also, you can check your expected rank using the formula:

(100-your total percentile) x 1700000/100, where 1700000 is the total number of students appeared in JEE Main Exam.

So with 49.678 percentile, your rank would be around 5,01,000.

On the basis of your percentile, the colleges you will get are:

  • Laxmi Narayan college of technology,Indore
  • Bharat college of engineering,Thane
  • Trinity college of engineering and research,Pune
  • Punjab Engineering college, Mohali
  • Jaihind college of engineering,Pune

These are few colleges, you will get on these marks.  You can also go through our college predictor to check which colleges you are eligible for through your JEE Mains score. The link for the college predictor is:

Hello Nalin,

It is difficult to get into any college with percentile 49.678. Because there will be alot competition in JEE counseling. But don't worry you have another opportunity of attempting JEE so,work hard and attempt again by getting good clarification on the topics which you are weak. Do be upset, and start working hard from now.

You havent mentioned your State and the Category you belong to. This information is important because home state ranks and other state ranks are different. Please do let us know your State and Category.

Your rank can be predicted by using the formula, (100-your total percentile)*869010/100. In your case, your approximate rank would be 437372. Let's say the number of candidates for April exam increased to 12,00,000 then your final rank shall be (100 - your total score) X 12,00,000/100.

Now the expected percentile for JEE Advanced is 85 and above. And with this percentile, irrespective of the reservation you might hold, chances in good colleges are difficult. You may have to settle for Management seats. But you can appear for JEE Mains April session to improve your percentile.

Now to predict colleges, please use our college predictor:

It is difficult for NITs even with SC reservation. And you may get Private Colleges under Management Quota with this percentile. You should consider the option of appearing for April session.
