With a rank of 45 in PUBDET english you may not guarantee admission into your first preference, but you will still remain in competitive postion, and have chances of securing a seat in later rounds.

stay updated, participate actively in all rounds of counselling and the most important have a backup plan ready.

and also, PUBDET admissions are strictly based on GMR it has nothing to do with categories those are just for information purpose and does not affect seat allotment.

With a PUBDET English GMR of 45 and being from unreserved category, admission to BA Hons course at Presidency University is very difficult and unlikely but not impossible to say the least. Last year cutoff was 33 for round 1 and 34 for round 2. If this year there is a major shift in the cutoff then you may have a chance.
