Hello Atharva , as you said your son is in 9 th standard,  he has 3 years in his hand. And you are thinking to prepare him from now,  it is really nice for him. He should have to concentrate on 9 and 10 class syllabus by studying concepts in detail, according to jee syllabus.

Also he can practice form books specialty design for jee. In market jee books are available for mathematics,  physics and chemistry. Try to solve test papers of previously conducted exams.

Class 9 is best to start preparation of jee.

Here are following tips your son should follow to prepare for IIT

1.complete ncert books then go for advanced level like hc verma for physics,rd sharma for maths etc.

2.Get a good mentor if you can find.metor will provide best guidance to your son in preparation of iit.

3.There is a coherence between class 9 and class 11 syllabus.so focus on every topic and solve high level qustion.

Hello Athrav,

Tell him to concentrate on his study and syllabus of 9th and 10th. As stronger the base, higher is chance to get selected in JEE. 

You can also send him for coaching as many institute are available now a days which provides coaching from 9th onwards. 

But keep in mind that self study is must if you want to crack JEE.
