Hello Sir,

It depends upon your category. If you are from general category , your son won't get any NIT in 142 marks. In case you are OBC, then you have to wait for the cutoff marks to get reveled.

You can check further more details about previous year's NIT cutoff in below mentioned career 360 link

https://www.google.co.in/amp/s/engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-top-nits%3famp

Other factors also matters like 12th pcm aggregate, etc. If your son gets aggregate of around 85% and you are from obc,sc,or st then he may have a chance to get admission in nits.

I hope this may solve your problem.I am always happy to help you.Ask if you have any further queries.Thank you

Hello Sir
Welcome to Careers360!
Based On this score his rank would be around 30,000.,(Based on last yr cutoff).
On basis of this rank Your child can get admission in NITs like Raipur,Silchar,Uttarakhand and various NITs which are ranked below them.
I will suggest Raipur and Silchar As these NITs have good Infrastructure in comparison to others.
Academic wise they will be at same level.
You should wait till last round of counselling to get most of it.
