Actually basic requirement is light background so that one can clearly see candidate's pic. But always light background is not available hence it is always asking to upload pic with white background. So even if you uploaded in light bkue background, but your face is clearly visible, then it wont get rejected. Eveh if you are doubtful then you can check with helpine contact number and mail id which is available on official website.
