The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) is a centrally funded scholarship program in India designed to assist the education of talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Administered by the relevant State Education Departments, the NMMS exam takes place each year for students enrolled in Class 8 in government or government-supported schools.

The scholarship is granted based on the results of the written exam, which is divided into two sections: the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), both available in English or regional languages.
