Admission in Navodaya Vidyalaya for class six is done through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test which is conducted every year by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Students studying in class five from a recognized school and aged between nine and thirteen years are eligible to apply The test usually takes place in the month of January or April depending on the region and the application process starts around September of the previous year The exam includes questions on mental ability arithmetic and language After the exam results are declared within a few weeks Selected candidates are informed through the official website and also through their respective schools and district offices Admission is given based on merit category and rural quota Students who are selected must complete the admission process within the given deadline by submitting required documents like birth certificate caste certificate and residence proof
