Some seats in NEET are reserved for children of defence personnel, especially in Defence Ministry-run institutions like AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College),

In some states, children of defence personnel may also get preference in admission or some seats reserved in state government-run medical colleges.

The reservation categories are generally for children of servicemen killed or injured in war, children of serving servicemen, and children of ex-servicemen.

To avail these relaxations, candidates have to clear the NEET exam, and fulfil certain criteria as per the status of their parent or guardian in defence service.

For admission into AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College), a good rank in NEET is required along with a specific admission procedure which includes talk test, interview and medical test.
