Hi !

Neuromuscular junction (NMJ) is a connection between nerve cell and muscle fibre. It has various functions

1 Signal transmission i. e most common = A nerve cell sends a signal to muscle cell by releasing neurotransmitters like acetylcholine etc .

2 Receiving signal Released Ach attaches to special receptor on muscle fibers surface.

3 Muscle activation when ach ( acetylcholine) attaches to receptor it triggers muscle activation creating electric impulse.

4 Muscle contraction electric impulse travels along muscle fibre making it contract.

Examples

As when we blink nerve cells release ach which attach to receptors in eye muscle make them contract and close our eyelids.

Hello Rupali ,

I hope you are doing well. As per your mentioned query , Neuro muscular junction is the site where motor neurons communicate with muscle fibers. It enables the transmission of electrical signals from the nervous system to muscles which leads to muscle contraction.

I hope this helps you !!

Thank you !!
