As per 2017 data, around 2.5lakh candidates appeared for IeS exam out of which 3769 qualified for Mains exam and 1404 students were selected flr interview rounds. Finally 500 students got selected.

So on average around 2.2to 2.4 lakh candidates appear year on year.
