Yes you are very much eligible to appear for CA CPT exam. If you have valid and genuine reason for the gap after 12th ,then you need not worry. Anyways there is no upper age limit or any such restriction to appear for CPT exam, so you will not be questioned about it. And if you study well in no way will the gap affect your placements. ICAI offers good placements for CA students, with an average salary offer of  Rs 8.40 LPA.
