The Merit Ranking is based on percentile score for each category and the minimum percentile should be 50 for UR/NRI/OCI, 45 for UR – PwD and 40 for SC / ST / OBC /-PwD.

Total number of questions in the JIPMER exam is 200 (60 questions each from PCB=180) (for English language, Logical & Quantitative Reasoning 10 question each=20). Each question carries 4 marks, which all total makes 800 marks.

For UR/OBC, the candidate should aim for minimum 760 marks out of 800 in order save position in any of the 74 (UR), 37 (OBC)seats.
