Dear aspirant;

Kindly follow some tips for preparing JEE advanced;

1.FIND OUT YOUR STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS :-

You can plan the journey to the destination well if you know the starting point. You need to know your strength and weakness for any test preparation, like you can be strong in Physics, average in Chemistry and totally clueless in Mathematics. This is important because then only you will create your plan to turn your weakness into strengths and improve your strengths even further.

2. FOCUS ON PLAN, NOT ON NUMBER OF HOURS :-

When you are preparing for IIT-JEE, you can not just say, “ OH, That person cracked IIT studying just an hour a day. I study for three or four hours a day. It has to be enough.” It does not work that way. You cannot compare performance by clock.

Hence, you need to measure your performance by your study plan for the day. You need to establish definite goals to be achieved in a day, in a week, in a month.

Your daily goals will need to include :-

topics you study

preparing notes for the topics you study

solve practice questions or numericals related to topics

3. EARLY TO BED, EARLY TO RISE :-

Sleeping late at night will mean that you will hardly be able to focus on the invaluable tips that teachers offer in class. Read the post SLEEP CYCLE TO STUDY EFFECTIVELY. by Prashant Mishra on A COMPLETE IIT-JEE PREPARATION GUIDE to understand better.

4.KEEP FIT, KEEP GLOWING :-

Exercise daily. Go for a walk, jump rope or play active sports for at least an hour a day. And rink at least 8 glasses of water every day. This will not only keep you healthy but also help your skin to glow. Read the post HOW TO STUDY LONG HOURS EFFECTIVELY? by Prashant Mishra on A COMPLETE IIT-JEE PREPARATION GUIDE for complete understanding.

5. CLEAR YOUR BASIC CONCEPTS :-

First finish your NCERT books as these books will create your base & you can learn all the basics. Try to finish entire 11th and 12th syllabus as soon as possible. The JEE syllabus of class 11th and 12th contributes about 45% and 55% of the IIT-JEE question papers, respectively.

6.DEVELOP PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS :-

During practice sessions, develop speed in working out the problems. The strategy of solving questions, starting from the fundamentals, will spark thinking process which are essential to enhance and master analytical skill with conceptual understanding. Aim for 100 percent hit rate. This will give you a competitive edge. Speed and accuracy will also allow you to finish the IIT-JEE papers ahead of time, leaving you time for revision.

7. TIME MANAGEMENT :-

IIT is not about solving all questions, but it is about solving decent number of questions in a given interval of time. If you are unable to solve a question, please don’t spend an hour on that, move on to the next question and try to solve easy questions rather than focusing your time and energy on difficult questions. Take more tests. Measure how fast you are able to crack. Time management is crucial in solving IIT papers.

All the best.

Preparation for JEE Mains and JEE advance are similar and different in many ways. But JEE advance is found to be tougher for it tests your basics to the core, not just bookish knowledge.

JEE mains can easily be prepared for in 2 stages.

The first and the most important part is to be absolutely thorough with your NCERTs. You wont realise this during giving your exam, but if you analyse your paper later you will find 9095% paper straight out those 4 books. (excluding math) No other reading material is needed according to me.

The next part is to practice plenty of sample and last year papers. One should practice them with a time limit andin the mode you have opted for. Make a strategy for your attempting order and the time you would give to each subject. Cracking the online counterpart is easier according to me, even if you have done as few as 67 practice papers on your pc.

On the last day, do NOT stress yourself by solving too many problems. Just stick to your short notes and formula books. Get plenty of sleep, not too much and definitely not less.
