Research fellowships and scholarships are generally not available through any centralized or international exam.

Instead, universities offer research fellowships on merit-basis. There are also some country-specific or course-specific fellowships for which candidates are required to submit essays or research proposals in order to be considered for the fellowship. Additionally, often, universities ask for GRE General and subject test scores at the time of admission. It is only after acceptance to the course that most universities offer fellowship and scholarship opportunities.
