There are mainly three sections in SSC Stenographer Exams as mentioned below with their recommended books -

• General Awareness    - Lucent's GK is best for covering static portion, you can refer monthly magazines like pratiyogita darpan for dynamic portion or read newspaper on a daily basis which will help you in comprehension part of English also, there are many apps which you can also install for practice purpose of each section or reading daily general awareness for this.
• General Intelligence & Reasoning - A Modern Approach to Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning  by RS Aggarwal or Analytical Reasoning by MK Pandey are best options regarding this.
• English Language & Comprehension - Objective General English by SP Bakshi is the best book regarding this.

Go through Pitman Shorthand book or Kailash Chandra Magazines for learning the short forms of stenography as this forms the major part of the skill test, and  practice consistently is the key to achieve 80 or 100 wpm, you can also join any coaching if that helps. There are many softwares available which you can download in your desktop or laptop, these helps a lot in knowing more details about various aspects of your typing skills.
