When it comes to comparing between KOTA OR KANPUR.

Kota is a hub of coaching centers for engineering and medical entrances. There are many reputed coaching institutes in Kota and most of them are good 
enough to produce some results too but because of high demand the city is very seems very costly in terms of rented room/flat, food etc. 
Also, the fee of the coaching institutes are very high. 

Kanpur has no branded/famous coaching institutions or even if there are some they do not run well because individual subjects' coachings are more trendy in Kanpur. Kanpur is a much cheaper city than Kota and individual coaching institutes are not 
costly like brand name coaching institutes.

Basically, results are never produced by institutes. 
It is students, who give results. 
You will find good faculty in every institution but your selection in any entrance exam
depends on how sincerely do you study for it.
