yes you will get a chance for the placement and you can get a job through campus placements. you need not to worry as there are many who do MBA after sometime. as said earlier in a answer your performance in your 2 year mba will matter a lot. with less grades you also might not get a job but its your hardwork that will earn you a spot.

Iam myself a management student.I wouldn't say it affects your chances at placements.An otherwise strong CV (academics, extra curricular activities, etc.) help you get shortlisted for initial rounds during summer placements. Then it totally depends on how you present yourself and your thoughts in the selection process. However if they ask you about the gap you should be prepared well to answer about the likings of ypur subjects.

During final placements, it's all about your performance in B school (CGPA, company of summer internship, profile, projects, any awards, etc.) that get you shortlisted for the group discussions (or any other initial rounds) and then all they look for is the "right fit".

So, I wouldn't say you are in a spot of worry.
I have few people in my knowledge who took an year drop to prepare of CAT also,for them it never proved to be a hindrance in getting shortlisted for interviews.
