Hi Prathmesh,

Neoprene is produced by free-radical polymerization of chloroprene.Polymer is prepared by free radical emulsion polymerization. Polymerization is initiated using potassium persulfate. Bifunctional nucleophiles, metal oxides (e.g. zinc oxide), and thioureas are used to crosslink individual polymer strands.

Reaction:-

(CH2=CH(Cl)-CH=CH2)    ---->    --(CH2-CH=CH-CH2-)--       [reaction is followed by(hv)]

Hope this will help please feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

Thank You.
