kvpy only checks the creativity and mental strength of the students. So it tries to put trickier questions in the paper but when the answer method is released then every aspirant used to say "ohh is this how to solve it, I know this very well".

So you just cover topics and keep strong command on basics of every chapter/topic. In maths trigo, probability and P&C is the trickest ones other are easy comparative to them, so have deep study of all these topics. In physics, modern physics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer is the scoring chapters, so don't miss them. In chemistry important, generally organic and inorganic are time saving so try to prepare them strongly.
