It seems you're an arts graduate, but you haven't mentioned the name of the course or even college for which you're enquiring, admission to MA program can be merit based or done through entrance exam such as DUET, BHU PET, PU CET(PG), JNUEE, PGAT to name a few, generally the syllabus of postgraduate courses are based on graduation level studies only hence you need to be thorough regarding this, in some cases there may be question related to gk, reasoning, numerical etc depending upon the pattern of exam, if you want to know any specific regarding this, mention the details in the comment box below.
